YeahThe mk3 was the low point imo. Its only saving grace was the VR6 block, although that was ludicrously heavy to be putting in a Golf.
I had a mk1 GTI ragtop in my younger more boy racerish days, although it ended up wrapped round a tree as so many of them did.
