Seeing as it's gona a bit mental on here...
The trainee I have in my office just made a confused noise.
I asked what was up, and she said:
"You know itches, right? WHY do we get them?"

She's now told the other guy in my office the "Amazing Fact Kaol Said"...
Itches are caused by tiny bugs, like ants, but too small to be seen with the naked eye.

What kinda stupidities do your colleagues have?

not my colleague
but a colleague of my gf.

this guy is grade A cannon fodder.

He was insistant that ice wouldn't melt in a microwave.

I wish I could remember other examples of the guy's complete moronitude, because he really is dumb.

Haha!
There's something about microwaves/water.
Er... Won't totally pure water not boil in one or something?

Not so much where I work now
but where I used to work they'd regularly watch the CCTV making comments on the girls, but if faced with said girl in the store they'd whimper and run away.

Most people at my place
think that when Im staring intently at the computer screen and looking thoughtful that I'm working

Damn fools

I think it's pretty much not that Kaol
Seeing as water absorbs the energy of microwaves! Apparently fats and sugar do too. There's stuff you can put in a microwave that wont absorb the energy though.

Yeah,
I know water absorbs the energy...
Something about pure water in a totally clean bowl not having any nucleation sites for the boiling to start, something like that.
Can't remember :\

Well it'd boil in the proper sense
No idea about the "bubbly and mad" sense though, don't know enough about the science involved.

It's conversations like this that make me miss my degree :(

Captain V
your degree?

just sit around with a bunch of intelligent stoners (there are such things) and you will get all this and more!
(, Thu 23 Apr 2009, 16:49, Reply)
I get this sort of conversation quite a lot
But I miss the fact that I used to know more about chemistry and physics than I do now. Would've been nice to have completed that degree...

ah ok
fortunately I've managed to keep hold of my most of knowledge of maths, physics and most crucially engineering. doesn't usually come in that handy outside work though.

fluid dynamics can be handy though.

I don't use anything useful in work
Unless you call basic math, developing in Excel 2003 and not being a complete mong useful :(

I'm doing lots of stuff in my own time at the moment though but it's computing and foreign exchange trading rather than physics/chemistry.
