Not recent but applicable...Two years ago when Gloucestershire flooded I heard a woman in Tewkesbury suggest that it was caused by 'bloody Latvians'. When asked how this could be she suggested that as there are so many of them living in the area, extra houses had to be be built - which in turn put an undue strain on the sewers that were built 'for English folk' and that in turn made the river banks burst.
Her solution was genius though...
'Send them back to bloody Latvia.'
(And the good news is we are still together and getting married in August.)
