Back in Britain!
I'm finally back in the UK after 9 long months in America, and bloody hell, I'd forgotten about chavs. Walked up the road to Tesco this morning, and spent much of the walk recoiling in horror. There were more obesities on Yiewsley high street than in the whole of Georgia, USA. I'd swear that the road was shaking with every footfall of the hydrophobes.

However - I shouldn't complain. I'm now living with my fiance again(rather than talking to him over skype every night), will start working in a nice lab group in a fortnight, and can utilise the NHS* for all the maternity care I'll need in the coming 20 weeks - so I suppose I can put up with chavs. But still.

*my better half and I both pay NI and UK income tax, I'm not some sort of scummy healthcare migrant!

Give it some time and you'll start missing the rednecks
If it helps, I'll gaz you every so often with a 'Yee dawgie'.

So which is worse? Chavs or rednecks?

chavs
mainly because they are everywhere - I only saw rednecks occasionally, although they were pretty grim too, in their own special way.

Welcome home!
I'd rather deal with the rednecks than chavs, myself. At least the rednecks are funny stupid, instead of just plain stupid.

Peachtree Atlanta...
...sit in the foodcourt for 5 minutes and count the chavy knackers and crackheads.
