I know Windows and your phone is supposed to talk to eachother hand-in-hand....... but if you're using something like a Nokia phone, their software would remove a load of headaches.
If you've got a S60 based phone, I use [something like] JokuSpot to turn it into a mobile hotspot (MURDERS the battery), then I can log in with all my other devices via Wifi.
