In your profile
There is a "highlight posts" option. It adds bars on the left. Dark grey for your own, light grey for new and nothing for stuff that is old (but not yours).

What browser are you using?
I seem to remember reading in the FAQ (a long time ago mind) that it doesn't work in certain browsers although that might have changed now.
