This is a question Off Topic

Are you a QOTWer? Do you want to start a thread that isn't a direct answer to the current QOTW? Then this place, gentle poster, is your friend.

I'm going to have a mini rant about the QotW
Read a few, then decided to read the lot... this stuff is (apart from the sillies and funnehs - good willy pubes!) on the whole pretty damned personal, deep and often painful stuff.

So I thought I'd try to do my best to read everyone's story.

Then I keep reading stuff from some twunts having a go at people for not "getting over" the shit that happened to them in the past.

The "oh, I've been bullied, but I got over it, so you should have, too" comments are making my fucking blood boil. As are the comments that people are seeking out sympathy by posting on there.

I am aware that those are minority views, but I need to rant because I want to scream at them

YOU HAVE NO FUCKING RIGHT TO JUDGE OTHER PEOPLE BY WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU!

I neither judge people who've gone on to not give a shit about what happened to them, or those that are seriously mentally scarred from their experiences.

Thing is, I'm not THEM, so I have no right to say how they should be now.

And neither does any other self-righteous dick.

Good on you for manning the fuck up, some other people weren't so lucky and you're being an ignorant, arrogant shit if you think that all people should react in the same way as you.

Fuck off.

I'm not ranting because I didn't get over it, I'm ranting because I might not have, had things worked out differently, and I'd be very sore if I thought people were blaming my problems on me not "getting over it", rather than the emotional turmoil I'd experienced during the formative years of my character.

Post your story of success by all means, but do not judge others by how you turned out. It's unfair. And pretty unpleasant, too.

there's an awful lot of line breaks in that post.
but yeah I suppose it's a good point,
what really grinds my gears is the people who use their past bullying as an excuse for some despicable behaviour.

Absolutely.
What she said (above).

Everyones experience is subjective and one of the things that I like about b3ta is that we are all - to a greater or lesser extent - misfits. We're NOT the cool kids; if we were we'd be hanging out someplace else.

If we start fighting, bitching, moaning and criticising each other then the wankers win. And I'm not about to let them.

Ed (suitably MtF'd up).

Fair point.
I'm gonna use that one too.

It won't be true in your case though.

You stop bullying me.
Or you'll feel HONDA JUSTICE.

Gents
I believe that the original posters' trying to make a good point that petty squabbling won't help.
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 12:32, Reply)
That sound like the sort of comment
someone who smells of turps would say.
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 12:34, Reply)
Al
The smell of turps beats the smell of... *insert bad smelly comment here*

... your face! Ha ha!

You'd be surprised at what Al is prepared to have in his face.
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 15:25, Reply)
Altho...
I quite enjoy some petty squabbling...

I just don't like people seriously telling others what to do.
(, Fri 15 May 2009, 12:35, Reply)
oh aye?
er, haven't you just posted telling people not to judge others...?
