A choice between...Dihydrocodeine and Diclofenac.
The former was fantastic, I felt nothing, it's like my whole body was numb. I had backache at the time and they were excellent. They weren't even mine, were my mate's prescription.
The latter I was prescribed for something or another, it's basically a NSAID (anti-inflammatory) but it put me on the moon.

AhaI'm on Paracetamol and Dihyrocodeine at the moment. Made my pupils minature!

Funny how you mention it...But I've got a mouth infection of some sort at the moment. My GP prescribed Erythromycin as an antibiotic but I've been managing the pain with (and I know it sounds painful) swabbing the area with TCP, rinsing with Corsodyl mouthwash and taking the odd ibuprofen. Working really well for me!
Don't bother with Bonjela, it's useless.
