I've always thought those looked like a good intermediate stageif I were ever to upgrade from my cheap P-bass but wasn't willing to pay for a proper Fender. They did have nice big, slab bodies. I think it's just the quirky look of them that puts me off slightly.

intermediate stage?a decent new stingray will cost you upwards of £1000. best bass I've ever played by a long shot.
