Strange things....
I was just out in the fields just now with my camera, putting some use to my 70-300mm lens, something I hardly touch since getting the camera. I then stood in the field (it was my Dad's field) and suddenly started thinking about Dad and how much he loved it, started really missing him. Then this bee-like humming sound started going near my ear, I ignored it, it buzzed a few times, then I heard what I thought was my Uncle call out my name, and I yelled back "OK, be with you in a minuite".

I then turn around to where the humming is, and I see these tiny little creatures (can anyone identify them? see photo further down). I get the camera and take a load of fantastic once-in-a-lifetime shots (I'll upload properly tomorow, using mobile for internets at the moment).

After they've gone, I went up to the house, where my uncle was still crashed out on the sofa, same as I left him. His voice was very much the same as Dads.

I'm not sure entirely about what I'm implying here, I don't know the awnsers, it could be my head making things up, as it's two days off from exactly one year since he went, but that's what just happened, and the pain doesn't hurt so much at the moment.

After the first year, Gonz
it does get a little easier. The first year you're filled with grief and full of memories, and the grief starts to fade. There's no more "first Christmas without, first birthday without". On the first anniversary of mums passing in February, I went fishing with my teammates.....my friend caught an 11lb trout and another friend looked up and said "Oy, Brenda, that was supposed to be for Sue" and we all fell about laughing. And that's when I realized I still had MY life to get on with.
Yes, I miss her terribly and not a day goes by that I don't think about her, but the pain is easier to bear and you find you can laugh at the good times you had.

*hugs*

Thanks, you're right, things do get easier.
I did make my mum laugh about a month ago (about everything that's happened), Dad and I used to fight over the crispy bits when she made Sheppard's Pie, so when I asked for all the crispy bits and mum said 'no', I said "C'mon, there has to be some advantage to having a dead dad.".

That stuff happens sometimes to me, my cousin died when I was 19, he was 17.
Sometimes I dream about him hugging me and I can feel it and wake up.
I'm not sure how you feel about what happened to you, but I always find it comforting when it happens to me.
*big interfatty hugs*
