Well this is true
but I do wonder if people who take genital mutilation to such extremes have issues that need professional help.

However, as you say, it doesn't harm anyone else then what's the problem.

Think of the African women with lip plugs.
You wouldn't say that they were mentally disturbed. To adorn or change your body is something that is deep within us and for some of us Western people, needs to be realised.

I just wonder that
when people feel the need to mutilate their genitals, especially the woman who has had her clit and labia taken off, must have some deep seated issues with their own sexuality.

I won't deny there are a small number of freaks out there that may have mental issues, as in all walks of life.
Most people go into their modifications with a clear and intellectual idea of this is how they want to be. People who do modifications to themselves are only doing it because they cannot find doctors who will do it for them.
