I work with kids on the autism spectrum
The pay is lower than whale shit, the job is mega stressful and draining but equally rewarding. My current charge's special interest is Monty Python, so when his stress levels go off the scale I've "trained" him to use that as a distraction. Hence a great deal of my day is spent reconstructing Python sketches, complete with outrageous French accents :o)

When I was a kid I wanted to be a lion when I grew up.

So really, being on b3ta is kind of like your day job then?

You wanted to be a lion? That ROCKS.

Those were an integral part of my childhood and I'm (slightly!) younger than you!

I remember school lunctimes playing Jetpac.

the only electronic game I had
was a Grandstand Astro Wars.
"Ultra modern arcade excitement is now yours, as you defend your earth ships against a fierce invasion...."

Mine's the top one - I still have it, boxed and all. Thought Sweary Jr might like it but he proclaimed it shit.

Retro electronic gaming
is wasted on the young.

I spent the other evening unconvincingly explaining how a monochromatic jumping stick man on a screen is a more involving gaming experience than Grand Theft Walrus to the nuggets.

They shook their heads and went to play Runescape.

and what will you do with your 78s?

(, Tue 16 Jun 2009, 10:58, Reply)
We had one of those!
Well, I say we, technically it was my brother's but I got really good at it whenever he wasn't around to fight me over it.

Memories...
