But getting pet chickens changed me. 4 months ago I could barely get out of bed to go to work. I was seriously considering selling the house, quitting my job and disappearing. Then I got a couple of ex-battery hens and now I have no probs getting up early to let them out and feed them. People stop me in the street and ask about "the girls" (i.e. my chickens).
God that sounds tragic.

they were quite bald and mental when I got them, but after a couple of months of TLC the feathers grew back and they settled down. Still a bit mental, but then so am I.

They seem really happy with her as she's got a huge garden to wander around in.

Getting up early, although at first murder, is actually a fucking joy.

However, I do think too much about chickens now. Perhaps I should start that hamster ranch?

And they're the most friendly, funny pets I've ever had!
I'd strongly recommend them!
