Far far too long since Finsbury Park!
I thought the only way to get a residence permit in Canada was to already have a job to go to? Always used to be the case apparently. Really hope you don't have to go back to the UK though for your Mrs' sake :(
Quite fluffeh: nearly done my year's service (fnar) with E*, and while the guy I'm living with and I aren't together any more as of a couple of months ago, we still get on really well. Going to Paris with work on Wednesday and later in August :) will be in London one weekend next month for fun times, too.

Yes! Finsbury Park was excellent, I had oodles of fun.
I don't have residency yet, I have an open work permit. I'm submitting for residency in September - fingers crossed!
I hope I don't have to, but if I do, I'll be able to fly back and forth hopefully.
Ooo! Niceeee.... good luck in paris, I didn't like it myself - full of french people >< Ill be in london from the 14th of August for 1 month to pass my driving test ;) Might see you then?

Haven't been to another bash since then; I stopped commuting about a fortnight later and now work full time in Ashford. Woe.
Will keep my fingers crossed for you; long distance relationships are incredibly painful so I hope it doesn't come to that :( 8 hour flights and lots of money...
I'm going out for the day on Wed - it's an onboard service personality thing so I and two of my colleagues will be standing in the bar buffet so people can come and chat to us about their journeys. August will be my holiday if my accomplice and I can get the dates sorted out :)
Oh no, driving tests :( still not passed mine, so I have the utmost sympathy for you there. I'll be up one weekend in mid-Jul for exciting fun times but now the high speed's come in I'll be making more London trips so you never know...

Ashford, poor poor you ;)
Thanks, me and the GF actually met and had a LDR for 1 year, so it's not as if we've never done it before, I'd still rather not go back there though!
That sounds... scary, Random people coming up to tell you about their journeys. Watch out for bert-types :)
I failed my test twice! D'oh. Once for stalling twice(?!) and the second for going 32mph in a 30. Four times. FAIL. I'll be taking my test as soon as i arrive back in the UK *worries*.
Maybe you'll be in london in Aguust then, i'll be sure to say hi!

a place you go to go somewhere else. Clenders will tell you so. Convenient for work, not so much for a decent social life!
I've done LDRs before and really didn't enjoy it so definitely not keen on the idea of anyone else having to do it :)
Some of my colleagues have already had E*'s nutter quotient come up to them and tell them they should be models and try to pimp their unmarried friends to them when they've been so I'm contemplating a nun's habit for the occasion!
I've failed 3 times: the first epically and should never have been put in for it, second for bumping the kerb reversing round the corner and the third time for going too wide around the same corner. Hate driving tests :(
I'll certainly try to be; am going to try to get to a few more bashes while the weather's nice and the evenings are long (have promised Pot I will come to at least one!)
