Open top bus tour
Great fun (especially if you get a funny tour guide on the mic) and you get a whistlestop tour of all the major attractions. Dublin does a good one too.

Yeh, actually I enjoyed this even though I live in London.
Though I was going out with a professor of history at the time and he complained the whole way round about the mic guy being wrong.

When I did the bus tour I was with a Londoner who had never done it herself

Le France was lovely, although such a brief visit.
Paris does rather smell of wee though.
