Setanta is still working in Ireland so I am going to SKY+ it
but I REALLY want to see it live.

Sopcast as I mention is decent but it can be inconsistent.

Nice to finally meet someone else on here who likes the old ultraviolence.

I have to say I'm not a fanatic
And I had seen a few events feeling slightly non-plussed.

Its only really been recently - the Macheda Vs Evans fight - that swayed me. The backstory of Macheda having a wild amount of fighting backgrounds and then the actual fight against the unbeaten Evans was truly awe-inspiring.

Then I watched UFC99 a few weeks ago and I'm starting to scratch the surface of the nuances involved in these fights.

It's interesting, exciting and brutal, although there are some real shit and boring fights...

are the fights you find boring the ones that hit the ground?
where it kind of looks like they're just holding on and squirming about?

That's pretty common in newcomers.

Not to sound patronising or elitist but in time, you'll kind of get that a bit more.

Check out Demian Maia or Rousimar Palhares or if you can find it, Antonia 'Minotauro' Nogueiras' second round submission of Tim Sylvia.

Or seeing as you dig Rich Franklins' stand-up, check out his submission escapes against Travis Lutter or Nate Marquardt.
