They really are!
For musical innovation, intensity, instrumentalism and general prog metal magnificence, I urge you to buy 'Ghost Reveries' by Opeth.

I may already have it
I have a number of Opeth albums, not sure which though as my other half got them...

Listen to it, dude.
The opening track is magnificent but the real magnum opus is 'Beneath The Mire'.

You heard "Crack The Skye" by Mastodon?
I can't recommend it hard enough.

I've heard some Mastodon - dont know if I've heard that one
What I have heard I find a bit too straightforward and not quite proggy enough.

They supported Tool a couple of years back and I found them fairly forgettable.

Mind you, Cynic supported Opeth last year and I felt the same but have subsequently acquired and admired their album 'Traced In Air'.

I thought much the same about their
Older albums, but this new one is pretty special.
