I had the same experienceI was lucky that only Oxford needed good grades to get in (I think it was AAB at the time) and Cardiff only wanted BBB. It still surprised me that I was one of the most capable students there (especially given the episodes I was having at the time).
I say it all the time; I'd love to go back. It'll be very hard to choose between chemistry and a computing based degree though.
