I've had two tattoos from different artists and both reccomend Bepanthen creamas do many websites I've looked at.
I suspect he was trying to sell you whatever it was you bought.

Yeah, I considered thatand bought it anyway.
His line was that anti-sceptic etc creams tend to break the ink down. Possibly bollocks.
