I don't know what she was in jail for, butit sounds like she likley has some serious mental health issues. Her Dad is not helping her at all by what he is doing. he must be pretty emotionally lazy/wimpy to take the easy way out and suck up to his daughter instead of telling her like it is and to MTFU.
Good Luck you did the right thing. If your partner doesn't support you, he/she is not really a partner.
