It is pretty shit
but you get to see lots of yankee dodle dandies getting shot by the japs, so it's not all bad.

But why the fuck did they think it was a good idea to tag that onto what felt like 3 hours of George Lucas-scripted romance dialogue?

I'm not sure I've actually watched it all
I think I may have just seen the attack scene a couple of times. I thought the ending was crap too. I don't know if it's true, but it smacked of Hollywood staging to me.
