That's why I like those games with a retro feelBecause the gameplay does not have so much depth, you can dip in and out whenever you chose.
I've never played WOW, but I have played Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic, and managed to get completely absorbed by it. It's not just the gameplay, but also the storytelling aspect.
