it's a bit of an emotional rollercoaster of a day, basically celebrating kinga's life and missing mike at the same time. he was/is the best friend i ever had and we loved each other very much. i still carry a photo of him in my wallet.
does that make me gay?
weak attempt at humour...
and yeah, the fairy cakes turned out nicely. i think 4 colours was enough...

Not at all; I'd say you're honouring his memory and ensuring that he won't be forgotten which is a lovely thing to do. I don't know that I've ever had a friend I cared for that much (I have had a horrible tendency to be best friends with someone and end up with us hating one another - case in point, Slag of the Universe).
I did red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple and the red and purple were too saturated with dye so they came out brown :( fail!

When I was in Poland, I visited the Wieliczka Salt Mine. They had statues carved out of the rock-salt. I wonder if St. Kinga was one of them.

so you've been there too? so have we. i thought it was rather cool. all that work, done by hand and arm and bicep and bison and mastadon...
but seriously, having been there and seen it...WOW! with a capital W.
