He wasI saw him outside St James' Park once. A wee kid rushed up to him, asked him for his autograph and he duly obliged, signed his bus ticket, ruffled his hair and sent him on his way, grinning all the while.
Decent bloke, grounded, and thoroughly canny. Not many left like him.
