On holiday last week
We were driving to Hay On Wye, and we picked up a couple of entirely-dressed-in-beige-canvas hippies who were going there too.

They smelled a bit like joss-sticks,
And were talking about "freedom is like a river" quite a lot.
I couldn't be bothered to point out that a river is fairly well-constrained by it's banks.

ah, but freedom is like that too
and then you get a sudden deluge of airborne freedom droplets at which point freedom rises from its banks and fucks up your house.

This is true.
They were angling for a lift back too.
We politely declined.
They invited us to the pan-pipe concert that they were organising though.

what did you think of Hay?

(, Wed 12 Aug 2009, 11:07, Reply)
Not bad.
I got one book, ha!
(, Wed 12 Aug 2009, 11:11, Reply)
think I bought none when I was there
I have trouble with bookshops, and music shops. When confronted with books or cds en masse all knowledge of what I want to buy, or even what I like goes out of my head.
(, Wed 12 Aug 2009, 11:12, Reply)
Yeah, same as.
Unless I clearly know what I'm looking for, I end up getting overwhelmed.
(, Wed 12 Aug 2009, 11:14, Reply)
that's exactly it
I have a couple of lists of books these days so I don't forget.
(, Wed 12 Aug 2009, 11:15, Reply)
Hahaha I do that too
I have a tendency to forget the names of authors but remember the name of the book, which isn't much help really!
(, Wed 12 Aug 2009, 11:20, Reply)
its not
particularly in a second hand shop, and I read too much to be able to buy new books.

my lists at the moment are almost exclusively "as recommended by b3tans"
(, Wed 12 Aug 2009, 11:21, Reply)
Hehe I read a lot too but am not sure where a good second hand book shop is
so I tend to buy off Play.com or Waterstones. B3ta is very helpful for recommendations I have to say!! :)

buy used off amazon
postage isn't particularly cheap unless you get a bunch of books from the same seller, but I've had books that look new for 1p.

greenmetropolis.com is a good site too.
(, Wed 12 Aug 2009, 11:28, Reply)
Oooooh cool
I'll give greenmetropolis.com a go! Thanks!

I've stopped using Amazon because of their sodding postage costs!! Bloody bum heads!

then was annoyed I didn't get any sex, I'll tell everyone about it on the internet"

Not the biggest cunt on /qotw but not exactly a nice guy.

I fail to understand why you would take her home
if she immediately spilled that stuff to you. not because of the stuff necessarily, but because she shared it so readily.
(, Wed 12 Aug 2009, 11:24, Reply)
Been there,
Done that. Regretted it.
