I'd forgotten how calming painting was.
yesterday I decided to take an hour out of study for some "me" time. Ended up spending 4 hours working on a painting of the veiw of the beach just down the road from me (from memory), listening to music at the same time. Missed the phone ringing three times and just completely got lost in my own little world.

And it was the best four hours I've had in about 3 weeks. Just felt really calm, happy and peaceful. Of course it could possibly have been the smell of the turps making me a little high, being in a room with poor ventilation, but still.
Went out today and bought 6 more canvasses, as well as more oil paints. Think I will have to really pick up painting again.

So what's the nicest little bit of time you've had in the last few weeks?

my genuine answer to this makes me sound horribly poncy
so I shall go back to something else, bubble bath, chilled music, candles, and I'm not even gay

PONCE!! :p
go on. Tell us your orginal answer. I don't mind if you sound poncey. Seriously. I figured I sounded pretty poncy myself putting that up there. :)

Daughter's been away with a friend, then her mum's parents for the past two weeks.
It's been nice having the house to myself again. Not having to concern myself with keeping her fed, watered and entertained. I've spent some time watching movies, playing games, walking. All those things I can do when she's around but don't because I'd rather spend the time with her.

All that's nice, but it's nothing compared to the tugging, insistent feeling that I want her back home.
