I once walked out of my own birthday do in the West End. I finished my set, picked up my boxes and fucked off in a cab without saying a word to anyone.

I honestly didn't remember it was a night in my honour until about lunchtime the next day. People had driven up from Winchester that I hadn't seen in about 10 years and I never even said hello.

A couple of my close friends have an incompatible taste in music to me
Stuff like Elton John, country and western. I often feel rude when declining an offer of an after-pub beer at their place, but it's better than me ripping off their heads and fucking their windpipe.
