what are you all doing?
Better not be working!
( , Thu 20 Aug 2009, 16:12, 61 replies, latest was 16 years ago)

I've been working solidly for an hour and a half. No b3ta, no msn, no faceache, no texting. Zilch.
Permission to do Fanny Adams for the next couple of hours?
( , Thu 20 Aug 2009, 16:14, Reply)

I've actually been working too. has made the afternoon fly by. the work I've been doing has had big pauses for processing though so I've been on and off b3ta almost non-stop too.

I wormed out of it and got somebody else to drop the stuff off.
Lick that!!

Hopefully it won't be quite as busy next week. I've moved desk as well so other people have a better view of my screen :0(
( , Thu 20 Aug 2009, 16:15, Reply)

Although it could be worse, nobody really pays any attention to what I do :0)

It may be beyond help. I've been fecking off to /talk but even that's been dull.
( , Thu 20 Aug 2009, 16:33, Reply)

it's certainly less boringly cunty recently, while still retaining some elements of cuntyness.
( , Thu 20 Aug 2009, 16:34, Reply)

It's really lost its edge. I know bitching about it isn't going to help, but why can't I bitch occasionally? I ask you?
WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!?
Edit: except a few best regulars of course.
( , Thu 20 Aug 2009, 16:37, Reply)

Let's hope so - I finally get a chance to arse around on here and it's quiet :(

It worked a treat yesterday!
Edit: Done!

and writing.

I am DJing in London's fashionable Shoreditch for a mate's birthday.
I haven't done it for a while and, whilst I'm not nervous, I don't want to make an arse of myself and am therefore thinking about which records I might play rather than simply filling my boxes with armfuls of the fuckers and crossing my fingers....as I used to do as a semi-professional. What was I thinking...?
( , Thu 20 Aug 2009, 16:33, Reply)

of vintage funk, 70s heavy rock and some mod/psychedelic 45s.
by about 11 I will be blind drunk and annoying everyone with Motorhead and 'DC. It always seems to end up that way....
( , Thu 20 Aug 2009, 16:37, Reply)

Man, I've walked out of parties where that's happened before.
( , Thu 20 Aug 2009, 16:39, Reply)

I once walked out of my own birthday do in the West End. I finished my set, picked up my boxes and fucked off in a cab without saying a word to anyone.
I honestly didn't remember it was a night in my honour until about lunchtime the next day. People had driven up from Winchester that I hadn't seen in about 10 years and I never even said hello.
Oops!

Stuff like Elton John, country and western. I often feel rude when declining an offer of an after-pub beer at their place, but it's better than me ripping off their heads and fucking their windpipe.
( , Thu 20 Aug 2009, 16:48, Reply)

some retarded girl asked for The Smiths one time too many.
We were listening to Bad Brains at the time. What could possibly follow New York Rasta-Hardcore better than fey Mancunian miserablism?
Pretty much fucking anything....

My pal turned me onto Tractor's 1972 self-titled LP earlier this week. It's utterly superb - reminded me in parts of Caravan, King Crimson, Jethro Tull and a little bit of Sabbath.
You may like it, I really fucking did.
( , Thu 20 Aug 2009, 16:44, Reply)

I'll check it out.
my drummer bought me the Jefferson Airplane album Volunteers for my birthday, that's worth checking out.
( , Thu 20 Aug 2009, 16:47, Reply)

and recently gave my his White Rabbit 45. Love 'em.
Actually their best one is the live LP ' Bless its pointed little head' - go get it!
( , Thu 20 Aug 2009, 16:56, Reply)

I'll fire you a copy of the thing I'm working at the moment when it is done. It's a modern prog epic about the plight of the red squirrel
( , Thu 20 Aug 2009, 16:59, Reply)

in a few linked parts. has bowie-esque bits, floydy bits, it will have a hard rock/metal bit once I've come up with it, spanish style, there's kettle drums, a gong....what more could you want?
other than lots of synth obviously. fortunately you are in luck!
( , Thu 20 Aug 2009, 17:05, Reply)

into a Boss digital recorder then into laptop with Cubase*. I'm just getting involved in the writing, arrangement and playing though, my compadre knows how to use all the gear very well, so me doing it seems unnecessary
*think it's cubase anyway

Then my mate moved to China and I lost my collaboration partner and kinda fell out of it. I'd love to get back into it again.
( , Thu 20 Aug 2009, 17:13, Reply)

My engineer and I fell out massively and that was 'career over'.
High point: playing some guitar parts for a Siouxsie and the Banshees remix project.
( , Thu 20 Aug 2009, 17:14, Reply)

we're both really enthused about it because the first few sessions have gone so well. We're on the same wavelength which is really cool. Having someone with all the hardware and the ability to use it is a massive help obviously!
( , Thu 20 Aug 2009, 17:16, Reply)

Keep up the motivation, especially if you eventually end up going your separate ways. Find someone to bounce off, to work with. Without it, it's so, so easy to let it all go.
It's actually one of my biggest ever regrets.
( , Thu 20 Aug 2009, 17:19, Reply)

so things have died down a little, but if the surf is no good this weekend then we'll be having a good session on saturday. need to come up with the rock bit though! and some proper hardcore electro stuff.
( , Thu 20 Aug 2009, 17:22, Reply)

I think I might put a notice up in the local music shop looking for collaborators. It's about time I did something constructive with fifteen years of guitar, ten years of singing and five years of electronic messery.
( , Thu 20 Aug 2009, 17:24, Reply)

you are bound to find some like-minded individuals.
our project came out of a stoned conversation suggesting we collaborate, then firing ridiculous names at each other. I came up with The Red Squirrel / Grey Squirrel Scenario, and things went on from there...
( , Thu 20 Aug 2009, 17:26, Reply)

Never listened to it. I can't even remember who its by!!!
( , Thu 20 Aug 2009, 16:57, Reply)

Not their best but damned fine.
I've seen them 20+ times, old lag that I am.
Warrior on the Edge of Time is their best IMHO.
