Gob-iron (or, to use it's Sunday name, Harmonica)
Because I can play both versions - slide and straight.

I am a cunt because the gob-iron is an exceptionally irritating device. I feel fairly sure that the walls of Jericho succumbed to massed ranks of harmonicaists and not trumpeters, as the so-called "bible" would have you believe.

for added smugness value

Until I get round to replacing my blown soundcard
I'm hearing nothing but the radio.

Get yourselves played on 6Music, then I'll hear you.

My dad and Grandad play the gob iron.
I love that sound. And I like the frame thing so you can play the guitar too. Nobody does There Ain't No Pleasing you like me and my pop. I'm not smug, just happy!

That frame thing
Is a throat gob.

Never tried one but it's basically a very compressed straight gob.

Throat gob!
I wonder if the fathers know it's called that...

I'd imagine so
If you went into any decent instrument shop and asked for a throat gob/iron/harp they'd know what you were after.
