audio typing
is what they call it. Prevalent in the translation industry because it's much faster to have someone dictate a big project than have them type out their translation themselves.

Also used lots in the medical profession because doctors who are qualified enough to be entrusted with dictaphones have horrible and illegible handwriting, the way of doctors everywhere.

I have some sort of bollocks 'degree' in text processing which means I can type up audio for the legal profession and the medical profession. I chose the legal as I don't do hospitals, plus its easier!! Mwahahaha!
