My sister phoned home every night for the first two weekssaying she hated it and she didn't know anyone etc etc. Eventually she got sorted.
They ended up phoning the halls and asking someone to give me a message to call as I was never in and hadn't contacted them in a month (and I'm not particularly sociable).
So as long as you're not a girl, you'll be fine.
