Depends on the mood I've got to correct
Weary: Tom Waits, Louisiana Red
Lonely: Hooverphonic
Sad: The Beach Boys
Uncertain of self: Deep Purple
Angry / pissed off / filled with vitriolic rage: The Who

So...The Who, 9 times out of 10.

Haha
Bit of a mix there. I tend to only listen to The Beach Boys on a really sunny day... so it doesn't happen that often. :(

Proably a special case, that one
They have a beautiful song called 'Til I Die which I decided I needed to hear after I heard my grandmother had died - it seemed like the only appropriate song for my mood at the time.

Sorry, that's put a bit of a damper on things, hasn't it? Perhaps it's time to wheel out a joke:
The Beach Boys walk into a bar.
"Round?"
"Round?"
"Get a round"
"I get a round?", etc.

I think I have heard it, it is indeed a beautiful song!
'I'm a rock in a landslide, rolling over the mountainside' - that the one?

Hahaha good joke! :D

That put me in mind of the Red House Painters' cover of 'I Am A Rock' by Simon & Garfunkel
I think their version fits the lyrics better.

Ah Simon & Garfunkel
I love The Blues Run The Game, the cover by Counting Crows is rather good too! :)

Oh gorgeous!
God I'll be ona right downer in a minute. I love the sad songs though. They're full of the skillz.
