Hey you!
Drums yet?
(, Wed 7 Oct 2009, 11:45, 1 reply, 16 years ago)
No.
Mapex appear to be massively retarded, and after 2 weeks still haven't managed to get my kit to Glasgow. Going to go across to the shop later, and possibly get a bit shouty/ask them why the hell it isn't here yet.

How's Wales?

Awh dammit! I recommend swearing up a fucking storm.
Wales isn't bad thanks, I'm still unemployed, but sent off a fuck-load of applications today.
And going to see "Zombieland" at 3, which looks awesome.

Ah, the life of the unemployed
Says the dossy student who's sitting with his feet up on his desk, attempting to do some work.

Maybe if I complain enough, I'll end up getting some more money off. Or a free cowbell. I WANT DRUMS TO PROCRASTINATE!
(, Wed 7 Oct 2009, 11:51, Reply)
I love your extremely proactive approach
To procrastination. Nicely done.
(, Wed 7 Oct 2009, 11:52, Reply)
I find the key to procrastination
Is spending large amounts of money on new things to play with. Sounds good, no?
(, Wed 7 Oct 2009, 11:53, Reply)
It does indeed.
I'm sure you'll go far in life :p
(, Wed 7 Oct 2009, 11:54, Reply)
Far into debt?
:(

Saying that, more student loan came through today. Yays!
(, Wed 7 Oct 2009, 11:54, Reply)
I wish I had a god-damn student loan.
Signing on is getting more and more tempting, but I can't sink to that.
(, Wed 7 Oct 2009, 11:57, Reply)
You just looking for any sort of job to keep you going?
You need to join a gigging band, that's what you need. Ceilidh money is used to buy many shiny things.
(, Wed 7 Oct 2009, 12:04, Reply)
Yeah, pretty much.
I've finally got a guitar here, so might start looking at getting a covers band together. Covers bands are, unfortunately, where the money is.

Not much call for Evil Blues-Rock at weddings and funerals.

Tru dat
Everybody's got to become a sell-out at some point.

cowbells are awesome
I'm trying to convince my drummer to get a kit made entirely of different sized cowbells, including a big bass cowbell with a kick pedal.
(, Wed 7 Oct 2009, 11:52, Reply)
This would be all of the awesome
I'm thinking of getting the Pearl Anarchy cowbell and woodblock. Sometimes 4 toms just isn't enough.
(, Wed 7 Oct 2009, 11:54, Reply)
I like your approach
too many drummers these days have snare, kick, floor tom and one other tom and a few cymbals.

drumming should be all about the drums. Nikko McBrain knows what he is doing!
(, Wed 7 Oct 2009, 12:04, Reply)
The drummer in our band only has a floor tom and one mounted
It really is a case of not what you have, but how you use it.

And cowbells.
(, Wed 7 Oct 2009, 12:06, Reply)
I don't agree
it's about having more drums and using them well.
(, Wed 7 Oct 2009, 12:19, Reply)
Like drugs, then?

(, Wed 7 Oct 2009, 12:22, Reply)
exactly
