I got a bt landline at my new pad with an install fee of £122.50 as I am in a newbuild and not connected to the network, and took out an 18 month broadband contract at the same time.

Phoned up BT questioning why my phone bill, sent on the 19th September and stating "payment will be taken within 5 days of this letter" hadn't been charged to me, and after lots of faffing with the fact I actually get billed 2 weeks later the chappie said to me
"if you take out an 18 month phone contract we will give you the £122.50 connection fee back"
"Eh?"
"if you take out an 18 month phone contract we will give you the £122.50 connection fee back"
"but I have an 18 month broadband connection contract with you, why would I want a landline contract shorter than that?"
"so you would like an 18 month landline contract?"
"yes please"
"we have cancelled the £122.50 charge, and will re-imburse it if payment is already taken"
