It was a pain in the bottom I can tell you.

Top tip kids, don’t be wandering around the Stokes Croft area of Bristol on your own when you are a little bit wobbly.

In terms of theft and damage, I’ve had my eyebrow glued following a kick to the head having been punched to the ground and my arm strapped/bandaged having had that quite badly cut (apparently it shows the hallmarks of a slashing with a Stanley knife, but I’m not sure how that happened, I didn’t see a blade).

Theft wise, mobile, wallet and watch all went missing and for some reason, my assailants decided that breaking my glasses would also make them happy.

Also somewhat annoying, is that I’ve managed to ruin a pair of jeans a favourite t-shirt and a pair of trainers. All of which were caked in blood.

Particular thanks must go to the 3 cab drivers who all stopped mid-attack and put a stop to it before getting the old bill involved.

Sadly, I’m not on the ‘high’ priority list of things to investigate, so I shouldn’t hold my breath about them nicking anyone. Also, the casualty department at the Bristol Royal Infirmary on a Saturday night is more frightening environment than the mean streets of Bristol with various muggers walking about. The police did however, have a go at me for defending my position and refusing to hand things over within an argument. Apparently it's always best to just give them what they want. Thats bollocks. I worked to earn the cash in my pocket and the other items that got robbed, if you think I'm handing them over without a fight, you can think again.

I got mugged at knife point last year,
they found the bloke, he got done for mine and three other muggings and a gbh, he got 6 years.
Don't expect them to find him/them but they do occasionally.

Oh great, we live there.
Well, near there. Well, okay, up by the Arches, but I walk through Stokes Croft all the time figuring I'm alright if it's closing time or earlier.

Hope you're doing okay.

Also, even if you don't think you're high priority - I had a phone call from Avon and Somerset constabulary recently (a moment of panic until I was sure they were phoning me in my role as law-abiding citizen) and they got the guy who smashed into my car last year. They were phoning to let me know he'd be up in court the next week. I wasn't even going to report it as it was so trivial but I was so indignant at some fucker smashing my car up outside my house that I did. Never thought I'd ever hear back about it so it was a nice surprise. I would count a mugging and you being harmed as a much bigger priority than my Clio's quarterlight so I hope you have some luck with that.
