I remember that within Bernard Cornwall's

Napoleonic universe with Sharp and co. He would talk about enormous French soldiers with long beards, aprons and axes.

A quick Google search has found nothing, was Bernard lying to me?

Which war would you most like to have been involved in?

They were from
the Pioneer Corps, if my rusty history lessons are remembered properly. From the Napoleonic Wars. British regiments had them, too.

I'd like to have been a Scottish warrior with a lovely plaited kilt and a claymore, at the battle of the Somme

Men in dresses
no matter how nice of a dress, do not count as women.

Men in skirts are just asking for it, though.

The Zulu Wars
Or any War where the British had guns, and the enemy was armed with a pointy stick or equivalent.

The Indian wars
With a chain gun, kevlar, and unlimited ammo...on the side of the native Americans.

Not really, I wouldnt want to be part of any war. Not because of morals, i'd just be scared shitless.
