I've been lurking...
and occasionally posting. Work is manic. I wasn't offered a choice in going up the career ladder - it was thrust upon me like an overexcited dolphin-cock. And I wasn't offered any more money.
That's the classical music industry for you - all mouth and no trousers. Or all work and no money. Whichever.

Is having a metaphorical dolphin-cock instead of a metaphorical ladder standard in the classical music industry?
