(Sorry to fill OT with this sort of thing, but I wondered if any of you clever types had any idea)
Firefox on Windows XP. For some reason - and it's been doing this for a while now - every time I start Firefox, it seems to revert to some point in the past, where it would have just updated/installed various add-ons, and so every time, I'm confronted with about four or five tabs all saying "thank you installing/updating xyz," including one for "thank you for upgrading to the newest version of Firefox." I've also noticed that certain settings, which I correct every time, get reset to what they would have been before.
Any ideas? Is there a simpler fix for this than the whole faff of reinstalling?

I was also made to sing that song at school. And I would also swear blind that the words were "dance settee," and envisaged Jesus and his twelve hangers-on prancing round a sofa.
