This is a classic example of the human brain creating patterns where none existthe word or song in your head has probably been as prevelant as it has always been, however as you are "tuned" into it it feels like it has become more prevelant than it really is.
The smae thing is true of the shufffle feature on your I-Pod, while it is not completely random, as this is impossible as it is based on an algorithm that acts on certain laws, I guarantee that you believe that it plays certain songs more or less than others.
