Has b3ta ever caused an awkward situation for you?
Apart from the boss catching you on there, that is.
I was watching Casino Royale with the Mrs and when Eva Green appeared on screen, I inadvertently blurted out "Would!"
"'Would' what, dear?"
"Err, would ... you like a cup of tea?"
I may not be so lucky next time.

Anyone else?

It sure has.
Example #1: I have an elderly and somewhat goofy Siamese who appears to be permanently stoned. I referred to him as a window licker to a friend of mine who happens to be a social worker.

"Window licker?" she asked. "What does that mean?"

"Y'know, the kid on the back of the short bus with his face pressed against the window." And with that I belmed and made slobbering faces.

The ambient temperature in the room dropped at least twenty degrees.

Example #2: I have kids who frequent this site. My oldest answered a few QOTWs, including this reply. Owned indeed. There are some things I didn't need to know.

All the bloody time
THough sometimes is just damn confusing for people rather than awkward. For example I have told several people to gaz me and received blank looks. I have been known to say "ris" in staff meetings. I call my colleagues hamtouchers. I shout "would" all the time sometimes to their faces, my wife is well aware and a gentle punch puts me back in my place. I also make horrible jokes about my own daughter that cannot be repeated in public.

This causes me lots of internal grief
I went from living for about 4 years with only guys, to now spending far too much time with the bird.

Now when we watch films or Eastenders I physically have to restrain myself from doing the fist pumping (fnarr), the "AWOOGA" and as you say the "Would!".

Also silly little things like, "WHOA WHO IS THIS STUNNER?" or "JESUS LOOK AT THE CHEBS!?"
