fuck me that's appallingI shall repost in reply that I once got a grubby business card through my door (in the East End) offering cash loans of between £10 and £300. It said something like 'no need to make payments at the bank - we will collect!'.
I was fucking scared just reading it. A £10 loan would be a grand in about an hour, and you'd be in the fucking canal within a week.
Gotta love them cockneys...

Up here they have/had a thing call Provident ChequesOr, 'provvy cheques' as they were known. The simpletons who took jobs going to collect the weekly amount from the proles who took them out where inevitably battered and their takings, taken.
An Xmas favourite that kept giving/taking well into the year after.
