it's a tricky cake to get right - yeast based, needing three sittings to rise - and therefore close to 5 hours to make!

Well, my Mum likes to think her daughter cannot cook . . .
Occasionally I like to surprise her . . . I don't always have lots of time to make the culinary delights she's famous for . . .

I can't cook all the basics like my mum
(You know, roast dinner for 20 people, scones, spongecakes etc) but she gets very impressed when I make interesting sauces from scratch. Oh, and desserts. They impress her.
