my road is still mostly icy, but it turned out ok.

My positive experience with the taxi from my mum's last night has made me realise that our roads are currently slightly safer than the pavements.
So, I'm going to taxi to and from the supermarket and stock up for the weekend. I don't want to do this after work in the dark, and tomorrow predicts more snow, so i think I'm being rather sensible with my forward planning.

I need to stop at the supermarket on the way home. then I'm going to light a beast of a fire and watch films and smoke joints all evening.
thoroughly looking forward to it

Supposed to be going to my friend's birthday party but i don't want to get snowed in while I'm there and then the moggy will starve and die all on his own, or something. Or maybe I'm a bad lazy friend.

or is it because the party might suck?

but I think a lot of people won't make it there.
So if it becomes a small party, there's pressure on the few people there to make it a 'swingin' jivin' partay'.
There is the fact that I might not be able to get a taxi home when I want to leave so I'll have to stay there, and I hate party embers when there are Phd folk around. It gets odd.
Or, it might snow a lot and I might not even get home the next morning.
All for ONE person's birthday. (I know a few of her mate's but it's not like I'm killing several birds with one stone and seeing any other friends of mine.)
Am I a bad person?

I'm a great believer in not doing stuff if you don't really want to, for whatever reason.
someone's feelings may get hurt a bit, but they'll get over it
