If he'd have tragically died after that I have him down as a comic legend - he's ruined his own brand with everything else he's done. I understand the 'dark' bits in Phoenix Nights were the work of Dave Spikey, mind you.

Did you really not find 'Ray Von' hysterical? Not even his version of Robot Wars with 'Two Tribes' as the theme tune? Or the minibus full of drunk midgets starting a brawl?

Also Kay is not constantly in it - he plays two of the main characters but they aren't permanently on-screen.

The Family Fun Day episode (series 2, ep. 1) is particularly entertaining.
