What are you liking today Monty?

This week I have purchased
* 'Shakin' All Over' by Johnny Kidd & The Pirates on 7" - quite possibly the best British record from the early rock'n'roll years
*a Billy Lee Riley 'best of' LP which is early rockabilly- best track 'Flying Saucer Rock'n'Roll'

and last night I ordered 'Freelance Fiend' by Leaf Hound on reissue 7" - they're an obscure British heavy rock band in the vein of Free or Led Zep - it's a great slice of cowbell-heavy riffage. Marvellous. An original copy of their sole LP would set you back about £1500...

WELL YOU MAKE ME SHAKE, AND I LIKE IT ROWNTREE'S!!!
I likes that song very much.

My uncle told me to listen to My Morning Jacket and I liked a lot. Some sounded like it wasn't even by the same band and some sounded like Crosby Stills Nash & Young. I shall be listening again.
They have a song about fancying the librarian.

I find CSN&Y's studio stuff a bit too tame for my raucous tastes
but they were fucking brilliant at Woodstock.

In that case you're listening to the wrong CSN&Y
You need Cantankerous, Satanic, Niggly & Yeast-infection
