Safe as Milk is a great intro album
Electricity is probably the strongest track, but I do love 'Yellow Brick Road' with its freak out 'The following tone, is a reference tone, recorded at our operating level' intro. The Captain was peerless, the most unique singing voice I have ever had the pleasure to hear. Not to everyone's taste, but I really don't have the time to give a fuck about everyone.

I know what you mean about the parcels. I watched a good docu about cocaine addicts a few years ago, and there was this one guy, who, on getting his stash on a Friday, would pop a few gr in a jiffy bag and send it to himself. Then come Monday he would be rattling, pacing about and almost tearing out the postmans hand. Entertaining stuff.

Disturbingly
I have thought about doing this to keep my greedy mitts out of my stash if I've got a big night coming up but the opportunity to score has come up several days before.

What I am really after
is the 45 of Beefheart's version of garage standard 'Diddy Wah Diddy' but I have never even seen it listed anywhere.

Yeah, that was his first single
Quite rare, i'm led to believe. The song itself isn't that brilliant, in comparison to his eventual output, but decent nonetheless.

Would it be this version?

The Muffin Man by Beefheart and Zappa is awesome

I have a 'problem' with Zappa.
Not quite a Bowie-sized problem, but a pretty big one nonetheless.

Same here
I like what he stands for, but I never liked his music. Beefheart was in another universe by comparison. Definitely not Bowie/U2 levels of hate, nowhere near it, Zappa at least had 'some' talent.

He was an utter smartarse
who believed, wholly incorrectly, that he was really funny and clever. He would definitely have got a punch in the fucking face, were he not dead.

He had a decent cameo in 'Head'
Other than that, i'm a non-believer.
