I think The 'Orrible 'Oo still lead the way on that oneMoon supposedly bribed the stage technicians on the Smothers Brothers' show to let him do the pyrotechnics himself on that drumkit...
Edit: Actually, just remembered that Moon also nearly outed Closet Shirter Russel Harty in 1972 on the latter's show...clearly you couldn't take him anywhere.

the Harty appearance is fucking MAGICI've got a DVD of the fabled San Fransisco Cow Palace gig where Moon collapses behind the kit and some lad from the crowd takes over on drums. It's rather funny, albeit terrible quality.

Think I've found bits of that on YoutoobAt least, there's a clip of them playing Smokestack Lightning with Scott Halpin filling in for Moon. You can tell the poor lad's a bit intimidated by the astronomically-sized drumkit, but it sounds pretty good otherwise.
