Inherent inconsistencies
Nobody often seems to point out that Moses, what gets given by God a couple of stone tablets with some general moral pointers on it that say "thou shalt not kill" amongst others, drowned several hundred Egyptian charioteers with the power that God gave him only a short time previous.

With that sort of precedent, religious violence is only to be expected, really.
