not particularly lately
but in my second second year at uni (re-sits due to bad subject choices first time round) I had to pay my own uni fees (in Scotland the Govt pays them, mostly). to do so I had to take out a student loan, which didnt even cover the full amount, but was covered by my dad. the end of the year, i checked my bank account a couple of days before my missus was due to move over for a year or two, making sure my pay was in, and there was an extra installment from the loans company for the same amount as the loan i originally received (about 950 quid).

Spent it all within three weeks (probably quicker, but i dont remember)
