hmmm...a lot to choose from
I'd have to say that the best were:

The Cure, Glastonbury '95 - just amazing.

Kiss, Donnington 96 (the first time they'd had the original line-up and makeup in about 20 years) - ok the music's not great, Ace Frehley shouldn't do five minute solos as he's not good enough, but the spectacle was great and you could see why they were so huge in the 70s - the show was amazing.

I'd also rate Ozric Tentacles at the Town And Country in about 1997, but I was blitzed out of my mind at the time and don't remember that much.

Most disappointing? Chilli Peppers in 2005/6 - just didn't seem like they wanted to make the effort, went through the numbers and refused to play a lot of the older stuff people wanted to hear. Nice to be able to say I have seen them live, but kinda wish I hadn't bothered.

Worst band ever? Some experimental Japanese Thrash Metal band at Glasotnbury '95 - lineup was two drummers a bassist and no guitar. The blurb for the band proudly exclaimed that none of the members could play before they formed the band..it showed. I swear to god once set of lyrics being screamed against atnonal tub-thumping was "I can see my heart in the hippo"... yikes.

I wish...
I'd been able to get to Pink Floyd for the PULSE gig, or even to the Live 8 reunion. Now that the keyboard player is six feet under, the odds on them doing another Waters/Gilmour lineup gig is slim to none. Bugger.

Would also love to see Pearl Jam live, but I think that whilst they still rock, it's a shame I'll never see them in a small club - I also missed Nirvana playing Leeds Student Union by about 6 months and then Kurt died, so that's pretty much setting a pattern - miss a great gig, then either have to catch them when it's not quite the same, or when someone's died. Arse.
